The EVNO CLX-TA4 double clarinet microphone system is designed and manufactured by hand in the USA and setup to connect to Shure or Evno wireless systems. The microphone is designed specifically for clarinet. The packages ships with the Evno CLX Microphone and the Evno Ta4 3-4pin mini XLR cable.  

 

A bell mounted setup designed to produce the most natural reproduction of sound possible while allowing for the most gain before feedback.  The double microphone design has a predetermined mix allowing the frequencies over the bell to be greater than the bell to achieve the most natural sound of the instrument as possible.  The CLX double microphone design includes two elements tuned specifically for clarinet and suited to address all the problems that are common in mic’ing a lower volume instrument.  The microphone will allow you to be heard as you sound without coloration, giving the audience a true representation of the sound the player works a lifetime to develop. 

 

The CLX is the perfect choice from solo performance settings, principal soloist’s in all genres, to high energy horn section bands of all styles.  From orchestral musicians to jazz, folk, klezmer, polka, and marching band the CLX will give you a setup where all the nuances of the instrument can be heard.  Each genre and player has a different sound and by keeping the microphone flatly EQ’d, you’ll sound like YOU sound without coloration.  The system can be used in low to high volume applications without the worry of saturating the element due to volume or high end feedback from surrounding instruments.  The CLX is the ideal choice for clarinet players playing not only as a principal soloist but in sections alike. Clarinet quartets, trios, and marching band sections are able to use the microphone wired or wireless as desired. 

 

The Evno designed clamp allows for perfect placement above the bell of the clarinet by putting the upper head of the microphone at the perfect point above the keys and the lower microphone in front of the bell.  

 

The gooseneck allows movement away from the body of the instrument and the bell as needed to accommodate fingers and key movement.  The microphone is easy to place on and take off the instrument with a screw tightening clamp while always being attached at the perfect height. The gooseneck in from the bell allows movement to place on an instrument stand.  The CLX gooseneck, designed in the USA, holds position as desired while being lightweight in design.  The microphone itself is built with perfect venting as well as a highly attractive machining process creating a beautiful look while allowing the frequencies of the instrument to fully be captured by the microphone itself.  Suspended in two standard variable 7 point suspensions, the microphone allows for simple and easy replacements of the O rings as needed.  The microphone body is terminated with a 3 pin mini XLR connection which is used for both wired and wireless connections. 

 

The microphone system can be used wired or wirelessly. The included cable with the CLX-Ta4 system works both with the Evno PS95 phantom power adapter, Evno A2 and Shure wireless transmitters.  By-pass the cable to connect to Evno clip-on wireless transmitters. Additional packages include the CLX system with Evno Wireless or the CLX microphone setup directly for use with Shure, AKG, or Sennheiser wireless systems.

Note that these options are only available with a traditional belt pack style transmitter and only an Evno Wireless system offers the belt pack free option. 

For the customer that already owns a wireless system from one of these brands you can order an Evno microphone package with the cable specific for each brand.

What Is Phantom power?

Phantom power is direct current (DC) electric power that is applied equally to both signal wires of a balanced microphone cable. Phantom power supplies are most often built into mixing consoles and microphone preamps. The purpose of Phantom power is to supply 48 volts of current to microphones that have built-in active circuitry over the same cable that is used to send the microphone’s signal back to the mixer or preamp. Since there is no visible power supply unit (like those common with tube microphones) the term Phantom power is used.

Do you offer a belt pack style transmitter with a volume control?

Yes, Evno offers the A2 belt pack transmitter for musicians who prefer an on-body transmitter. The A2 includes a convenient volume control, allowing players to adjust their sound levels effortlessly.

Do you have a hand held wireless microphone?

Yes, Evno offers the AH handheld microphone which sync’s to the W1, W2, and Air receivers.  The most common setup would be to combine the AH with W2 Dual receiver to have both a wireless horn microphone and hand held active at the same time.

Evno windscreens are available in two sizes, tailored to fit the two different sizes of capsule shells. These windscreens are included with each microphone but use is optional designed to protect the microphone diaphragm from gusts of air, which can occur in windy conditions. They are particularly beneficial for more aggressive players who produce higher volume levels, as the resulting wind stream can be on occasion be noticed. The windscreens help enhance sound by reducing breath noise. Conversely, for softer players, the breath noise produced on certain instruments may be a deliberate part of their sound, making the use of a windscreen less desirable.

The Evno W1 is the flag-ship wireless setup in the Evno wireless line.  The W1 offers a True Diversity antenna system which provides the greatest distance at about 150meters.  The Evno W1 True Diversity operates two antennas and two receivers at the same time while combining the audio.  The antenna system switches the audio between antenna A and B depending on which antenna signal is stronger at the position on the stage.  A True Diversity system is more stable and advanced as it also offers greater range as apposed to a diversity system with a single or double antenna.


The W1 is housed in a metal chassis with 1-XLR and 1-1/4in output. A 1/2 rack-mountable design, the system come with a rack-kit and extension cables to place in a standard rack unit.  The extension kit places the antennas on the front of the of the rack case allowing quick removal of the antennas for storage. The antennas disconnect with an BNC locking connector to either the back or front when racked.  
Powered by an included 12V power supply is easy to setup. The Evno W2 is a dual wireless system specifically designed to accommodate two Evno microphones active at the same time. This allows for the player to use any combination of Evno microphones wireless at the same. A flute, clarinet, or saxophone etc, can both be active to use at the same time depending on what your particular needs maybe. Independent (2) XLR outputs offer separate control of each microphone / transmitter for greater control of EQ and volume over each channel. The W2 offers a Diversity antenna system which provides a distance at about 100meters.
