Description

The Evno TBX trombone and low brass microphone system is designed and manufactured by hand in the USA. The microphone is designed specifically for trombone and low brass to produce the most natural reproduction of sound possible while allowing for the most gain before feedback.  The TBX system includes a high SPL tolerance suited for a stronger level of output that a brass instrument can produce.  The microphone will allow you to be heard as you sound without coloration giving the audience a true representation of the sound the player works a lifetime to develop.

The TBX is the perfect choice from solo performance settings, principal soloist’s in all genres, to high energy horn section bands of all styles.  The system can be used in low to high volume applications without the worry of saturating the element due to volume or high end feedback from surrounding instruments.  The newly designed clamp allows for perfect placement on the bell of the trombone or any flanged bell brass instrument by putting the head of the microphone at the perfect axis point without any spin or twist to off set the microphone from the instrument. It is easy to clamp on and take off the bell with the Evno Swivel spring loaded clamp while always being attached at the perfect height. The setup can be moved quickly from one horn to another.  The TBX gooseneck, designed in the USA, holds position as desired while being lightweight in design.  The microphone itself is built with perfect venting as well as a highly attractive machining process creating a beautiful look while allowing the frequencies of the instrument to fully be captured by the microphone itself.  Suspended in a standard microphone variable suspension of 7 points, the microphone allows for simple and easy replacements of the O rings as needed. The microphone body is terminated with a 3 pin mini XLR connection which is used for both wired and wireless connections.

The microphone system can be used wired or wirelessly.  The EVNO TBX is shipped with the PS95 power supply for wired use while still being adaptable and ready to use with EVNO, Shure, AKG, or Sennheiser wireless systems.  (AKG and Sennheiser cables ordered separately to mate the microphone with another brand wireless or available in a package with the microphone and cable for customers who already own an Evno, AKG, Shure, or Sennheiser system.) The included cable with the TBX model works both with the Evno PS95 phantom power adapter, and Shure wireless transmitters.  By-pass the cable to connect to Envo clip-on wireless transmitters.  Additional packages include the TBX system with EVNO Wireless or the TBX microphone setup directly for use with Shure, AKG, or Sennheiser wireless systems.

The complete Evno TBX setup includes an Evno branded leather microphone bag, PS95 power supply / preamp, Evno Swivel Clamp, TBX Microphone, and cable.  XLR cables to connect from the PS95 power supply to a mixing console not included. A standard XLR / Mic cable is required.

Craftsmanship and Features

 Swivel Clamp

The Evno Swivel clamp is designed for quick and fast changes on trumpet, frugal horn, trombone and low brass instruments.  The swivel function allows the clamp to rotate away from the bell as desired. Designed to swivel away from the bell of microphone to avoid any contact with a mute the clamp is lightweight in design and attached with a spring loaded clamping system.  The Swivel can be alternatively used on the SX saxophone and TBX trombone system if desired.  The clamp is designed to fit perfectly into the body of the microphone holding a tight firm grip.  No padding is needed of any kind to attach the clamp firmly to the body.  The attachment keeps the microphone in the exact position desired and aligned perfectly in the center of not only the body but the complete center positioning of the microphone.  Light weight in design yet strong enough to hold position and mates perfectly on the narrowed body of an Evno microphone. The Evno Swivel comes stock on the TBX Trombone, and TPX1 Trumpet systems. It is also used as a secondary bell mounting option for the TPX2 Trumpet system.

Please see our education page for more information.

What Is Phantom power?

Phantom power is direct current (DC) electric power that is applied equally to both signal wires of a balanced microphone cable. Phantom power supplies are most often built into mixing consoles and microphone preamps. The purpose of Phantom power is to supply 48 volts of current to microphones that have built-in active circuitry over the same cable that is used to send the microphone’s signal back to the mixer or preamp. Since there is no visible power supply unit (like those common with tube microphones) the term Phantom power is used.

Do you offer a belt pack style transmitter with a volume control?

Yes, Evno offers the A2 belt pack transmitter for musicians who prefer an on-body transmitter. The A2 includes a convenient volume control, allowing players to adjust their sound levels effortlessly.

Do you have a hand held wireless microphone?

Yes, Evno offers the AH handheld microphone which sync’s to the W1, W2, and Air receivers.  The most common setup would be to combine the AH with W2 Dual receiver to have both a wireless horn microphone and hand held active at the same time.
